What your life produces today is what your legacy plants tomorrow.
This is the “D” in this month's S.E.E.D. pattern: the place where your seed gets planted.

Let me tell you about a woman I'll call Renee. Like every story I tell in these pages, hers is a composite of the ones I hear every week, so if you see yourself in it, that's not an accident.
Renee was halfway through peeling apples for Thanksgiving pie when her seven-year-old granddaughter climbed onto the stool beside her and held up a half she had just cut open.
“Grandma, why does the apple have seeds inside it?”
Renee didn't look up. “So there can be more apple trees, baby.”
She kept peeling. Then she stopped.
Standing in that kitchen in the middle of November, with the pie crust chilling and family arriving in two days, the question landed somewhere much deeper than fruit. What seeds is my life carrying?
She thought about her marriage: twenty-two years of “keeping the peace,” which really meant swallowing what she needed so nobody got upset. She thought about the women's ministry she led, the one she had quietly drafted a resignation letter for three times since September. She thought about how she said yes to every request at church, every favor at work, every call from family, and then lay awake resenting all of it. And she thought about her son, who had started talking to his wife the same way his father talked to her.
The fruit was visible. And for the first time, Renee could see the seed inside it.
Renee wasn't a bad tree. She was a tired one. Her branches were heavy. Some of the fruit was sweet, and some of it had been grown out of fear, exhaustion, and silence. And every piece, sweet or bitter, was carrying seed into the next generation.
Maybe you're standing at your own kitchen counter this month, asking the same question.
November is harvest month. Fields are cut, tables are set, and gratitude gets spoken out loud. But just before the harvest comes a stage most people never notice: fruit seed development. The fruit fills out on the branch, and hidden inside it, the seed is maturing, becoming able to produce life beyond the plant that made it.
Spiritually, this is the season when God asks a sobering and beautiful question: Is what I'm producing able to reproduce? Fruit that only feeds you today is a meal. Fruit that carries mature seed is a legacy.
This month, we'll walk together as you:
Missed a stage? Every issue is still here. Tap any one to read it.
Sprout. Stem. Flower. Fruit. Every stage was preparing for this one.
Last month we talked about flowering, the season when what God is doing in you becomes beautiful and visible. But a flower is not the goal. When the petals fall, the base of the flower swells into fruit, and inside that fruit a seed begins to form. A mature seed has three parts, and each one speaks to the life God is developing in you.
The tiny living plant inside the seed: the future, already present. It is the identity and calling God placed in you before anyone else had an opinion about you.
The reserve that feeds new growth until it can reach the light. It is the Word you have hidden in your heart for the seasons when you can't yet see the sun.
The protective layer that keeps the life inside from being crushed or dried out. It is the boundaries that guard what God is growing in you.
The fruit of your life is visible evidence of what is rooted inside you, and the seed within that fruit decides what grows after you. God is not only after your fruitfulness. He is after your multiplication.
“And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.”
Genesis 1:11 (KJV)
Bitter fruit is not a verdict on your worth. It is information. Here are the five places we saw it show up most often in this past month's conversations. Say them plainly, because what you won't name, you can't bring to God.
Read these slowly. One of them is probably yours.
The fruit: burnout, quiet resentment, relationships that feel like obligations. The seed it leaves: the people watching you learn that love means erasing yourself.
Boundaries are the seed coat. They protect what God is growing in you.
“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”
Proverbs 4:23 (KJV)

Every fruitful season has a moment where quitting feels reasonable. The harvest is often closer than it looks.

Roots are hidden. You can't dig up your heart and examine it in daylight. So Jesus gave us something we can see: the fruit. How you talk when you're tired. What you do when nobody thanks you. How the people closest to you feel after they've been around you.
“Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.”
Matthew 7:17 (KJV)
Look at both trees. Resist the urge to ask, “Which one am I?” Most of us have branches on both. Instead, ask the more honest question.
Don't condemn. Just notice. Inspection comes before transformation.
Four movements for anyone who wants their fruit to carry life into the next generation. Take them slowly. One a week is plenty for November. They walk right alongside the Mind Renewal™ cycle we teach in the community: Think, Believe, Choose, Act, Become, Multiply.
Before you try to fix the fruit, ask what you are rooted in: approval, fear, control, or Christ. Fruit cannot be manufactured; it can only be produced by abiding. “He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing” (John 15:5).
Hold your last seven days up against the nine fruits of the Spirit. Which ones are full and ripe? Which are thin? Don't condemn; just notice. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance” (Galatians 5:22-23).
A boundary is a pruning cut. It removes what drains the branch so what is fruitful gets the strength. Pruning hurts, but the Gardener only prunes branches He expects more from. “Every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit” (John 15:2).
Seed that stays inside the fruit rots on the ground. Your testimony, your gifts, and your lessons were meant to be planted in someone else. Multiplication is the point. “Now he that ministereth seed to the sower… multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness” (2 Corinthians 9:10). This month's premiere, up top, is all about this step.
One more season: the parable of the fig tree, Luke 13:6-9.
In Luke 13, a man plants a fig tree, comes looking for fruit three years in a row, and finds nothing. His verdict is swift: cut it down. But the dresser of the vineyard steps in and asks for one more year, time to dig around the roots and feed the soil.
“Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.”
Luke 13:8-9 (KJV)
If your branches have felt bare lately, hear this clearly: the axe is not the end of the story. There is a Vinedresser who is digging around you, not giving up on you. And notice how He brings the tree back. Not by yelling at it to try harder, but by changing what is around its roots.
That is what the right community does. It is soil.
Choose one each week. Write it on a card. Read it before you pick up your phone in the morning.
“Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.”
John 15:8“And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season.”
Psalm 1:3“Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.”
John 12:24“Nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.”
Hebrews 12:11“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain.”
John 15:16“Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.”
Philippians 1:11“That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work.”
Colossians 1:10“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
Romans 12:2A seed doesn't need a sales pitch. It needs soil: the right depth, the right nutrients, people who show up to water it. That is what The Mindset Academy™ Community exists to be.
Our Mind Renewal™ cycle moves you from Think to Believe to Choose to Act to Become to Multiply. Fruit seed development lives right at the end of that cycle: becoming someone whose life produces fruit, and then multiplying it into others.
Inside the community you will find teaching that goes deeper than a sermon clip, assessments that help you understand how you are wired, and people walking the same road with you.
Distribute the seed. Our community runs on volunteers: people who greet the newcomer in the comments, pray over requests, share a live with the one friend who needs it, or help host a small group. You don't need a title. You need a willing heart and an hour a week.
Join the CommunityChurches, ministries, veteran organizations, and businesses: if your mission is to see people renewed and fruitful, we'd love to plant alongside you. Sponsor a live series, co-host a workshop, or bring the Mind Renewal™ framework to your team.
Start a partnership conversationDon't just read this and nod. Do these three things before November ends. That's how fruit becomes seed.
